Bean Station Tennessee

We had a little rain early today but it stopped before noon. Teri and I took that opportunity to check out some of the out of the way places here in Bean Station, Tn. This is one of the oldest towns in the state. Seems Daniel Boone, back in the early 1700's, was one of the first guys to record this spot. Shortly thereafter a tavern sprang up. It was on a roll from that point forward. Of course we were geocaching.

Out in the woods we went.

This marker was an interesting history lesson on Bean Station. I doubt you can read it but you might try clicking it up. Too much information for me to relate.

The bug is ready to roll. I have already washed it this evening and told him we are heading over into Va. in the morning. If he behaves well we will hit the Bristol Motor Speedway. If you want to ride along, use the tracker and change the call to WD0AFQ-1 that call belongs to the bug.

Bean Station is an interesting place, lots of early American history here. I find myself allowing my mind to wonder back to the settlement times when we are out geocaching here. We see places that we would never experience if we were just passing through. Geocaching gets us to the "good spots".

If no rain we will take off early heading northeast into Va. and down to the Bristol Motor Speedway. Weill grab a few pictures along the way. I am sure some geocaching will also be in order. Hope to be back here by early afternoon. We plan to head north into Ky. Wednesday morning.

Thanks for checking on us. The GMC Motorhome certainly takes us to some very interesting places. Glad we own one.
