Fiday Night Ho Down

Look at this. Teri and I attended a weekly "jam session" in Garibaldi, Or. These folks do this every Friday from 6 - 8 pm. Notice there are about 15 artists here and about 30 of us in the crowd. Some had been good performers in their earlier days. Some thought they were pretty good now. And some of the applause must have been because we were glad that number was over. And, some are pretty good. This was fun for Teri and I. Her uncle Hank helps them set their stuff up each friday and invited us. We throw a few dollars in the can and there we were, stomping our feet and clapping our hands. A mixture of music. A great way for older folks to spend a Friday evening. I think every small town should have a place that performers could get together like this for no rent. Anyway, it was great. Garibaldi is just up the coast 10 miles from where we are. We go up there nearly daily. Teri's mom is there and so is her aunt and uncle. Check the photo below. Uncle Hank. He and Teri are pretty tight. I enjoy listening to him talk about his life. He came here at age 5 from France, speaking no english. He has a lot of good stories and I just love listening to them. He worked as the Harbor Commissioner for many years. Just a great guy. Hank is married to Teri's mom's older sister Patsy. We came on in about 8 and spent a couple hours with our full time neighbors again, around the camp fire. Teri and Sylvia are going to the farmer's market in the morning while Gordon and me have some other places that we want to see and visit. We are having the best time out here, can you tell? The only thing I hate is that the air causes my chrome stuff to rust and aluminum to corrode. I have to really stay on top of keeping the stuff cleaned off. I guess it is the salt in the air or something. Worse here than anywhere else we have been along the coast for some reason. Maybe because it is much cooler here, I do not know. Forecast is for 48 degrees tonite. I love it. Teri tends to sleep closer to me when it gets chilly in here. That is about it for today. We are staying a few more days here then will start our eastward journey. Thanks for dropping in. Hollar if you have any questions or any places that you feel Teri and I need to see. Dan
