Mt. St. Helen

Up and atem early this morning. Teri found so many bargains here she brought me home and went back for more. These old cars just cruise all over this place. Shot this one while filling up with gas. He saw me and waved after I got the shot.

This is the place for old cars and parts. This is a classic junk yard. Only vehicles that are restored live here, some only for their donar parts.
Zoom this picture up. That is St. Helen. Her top blew off back in the 80's. I can see her, 50 miles to the north and Hood, 75 miles to the east. Many times I can get in one spot and also see Mt. Raneir. That is awesome looking at all three at same time. Would not have wanted to be living around here when Helen blew. The Porland/Vancouver area is so pretty in the summer months. Have never been here any other time than July and August but it sure is nice. Most folks dont even have air conditioning. Although it is warm today. I saw the temp at 94 about noon.
Been working on the Vibe. The throttle body is sticking for somereason. Car wants to idle 2-3,000 rpms. Cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor today but not sure that did any good. Spent 7 bux for a can of cleaner. Also finished cleaning the throttle body and put some fuel injector cleaner in the tank. Took it out this evening for some hotrodding, alone. Maybe I shook some stuff loose. I hit lift on the Yamaha 3 times at 6 grand.
Have a good weekend, it has begun.

The shortcomings of my, uh, eyesight are stipulated. But just what is that flat black machine in the other lane? Looks like a 1948 or '49 Chevy with an Olds grille and a Buick hood…or at least grafted-in portholes. But it appears to be a bit bulky in the bustle for a delivery (single rear door). And it would have to have a healthy chop if it's a panel (with double doors). Nice catch!

I remember getting lumber that was covered with volcanic ash from the Mt. St. Helens eruption.

The idle problem sounds like it might be the IAS (idle air speed) motor. It should be on or near the throttle body and you might be able to just take it off and clean it. I have done that on my Cherokee a couple of times. Had to replace the one on the Tracker though. It wouldn't idle at all. The part alone was over $350.00. Most are not that expensive.
