Where is Noah?

Here we were Wednesday morning, hooking up the car to the coach. Was just barely daylight when we left Duncan. A little glimpse of what was to come.

Coming into El Paso. No rain had yet fallen on us. We thought maybe we would dodge this one.

Just as we came into El Paso, and it's traffic, the rain hit.

As soon as we came out the east side of El Paso the rain stopped.

Look at this. I took this shot for those who may not believe the speed limit is actually 80 mph ion West Texas.

Lots of these are pumping. I was actually surprised.

Here was our first stop for a little geocaching. It was also our last. It was cold and windy.

Teri with her handheld gps unit searching for the treasure.

Here we are getting ready to pull out after our first nite on the road. It had come a sleet storm and the temps were in the 20's. We were just west of Midland when we decided we had had enough for one day. Waited til 10 am to take off as the roads were very bad. We saw evidence of many many accidents that had happened just ahead of us, on the icy roads.

That parking lot was still slick.

Here we are getting ready to pull out from Tyler Texas this morning. Rain, rain, and more rain.

We arrived in Monroe about 1230 pm. We were sure glad to get here. Spent 4 hours today driving the last 200 miles in the rain. It was an absolute mess but the GMC never missed a lick all of the 1100 miles. The weather was really crappy but I was in great company. Teri kept her eyes open helping me along the way. It is after 11 pm and its still raining. I know this GMC has never seen this much rain. We would have been better off if we could have come a little earlier or waited a couple days later. We were in the worst weather all the way. Made us wonder why in the world we left Az. this early. If it had not been for the International GMC convention we would not have. Next week we will travel on down to Dothan Alabama. I will pray for better weather. If this rain keeps up I am going to be praying for Noah and his big boat to come rescue us.
Yesterday I got a call from the Tucson Census Bureau wanting me to come in for training. I told them they were just a dab late. Kinda funny as we were supposed to have been called the first week of Feb, or that was what we were told. Very unorganized out there to say the least. Maybe we can work in Mo. when we get back next month.
It is bedtime here. Glad yall hung in there with us. Will keep you posted while we are here. Maybe the weather will dry up and we can do a little geocaching.
Dan
