You Just Will Not Believe This

Oh wow, yesterday was our anniversary. After meeting with some very good friends for lunch we took off for Safford. Our friends are fulltimers and were on their way to Nevada. We appreciate them stopping in Duncan for a visit. Best of luck Glynna and Russ.
The first picture is of us looking at the next picture.

Oh yea, after supper we stopped at Dairy Queen. I have trouble eating ice cream but I did force this down. It was good.

Our friends Al and Anne have been wanting to learn about geocaching so today was their first trip with us. Here Al and I are putting a gate back after our drive through on to our first cache for the day.

Look at the view from the mountain top. Photo does not do it justice.
Anne spotted the first stash as Teri was working the GPS. That little thing is right on the money.

The view behind the stash.

Down in the valley.

Here are three of us. Just after we found the first one.

On our way back to the truck. We had walked about 1/4 mile from the trail where we left the truck. This would not have been found by a first timer. But, we all know that Teri is pretty much a pro now.

When we came by this coral going up the mountain the cowboys were here and it was full of cows. I guess they were branding or something. As we came back The cowboys were herding the cattle back up the way.

Another gate we came through.

Here we are crossing the Gila River. The old bridge is pretty much gone so this is the only way out. When it rains there is no way to ford here.

The second cache for the day. We are up near Mule Creek, right around the Az/NM line. Altitude here was over 6000 ft. Teri is leading the way.

An old fireplace left from years gone by. When we first passed this there was a big black cat lying in there. I don't know if it was an over grown domestic cat or what. But, we were far from any residence.

We visited with thes folks. Mom, dad, and daughter. They left Jacksonville, Fl. on Jan 15 heading to San Diego. They were climbing up to about 6,000 feet here. What a trip.

A view of NM from up near our second stash.

Here they go. Man, I was tired and did not want to trek up this mountain but off I went.

Al looking at the cache after Anne spotted it first, her second find of the day.

We were walking and climbing here. Hard. Lots of big rocks.

Al taking our picture.

Sides of the mountain. Just about the NM/AZ line, near Mule Creek.

Awesome.
I am telling you Teri and I are seeing some spectacular places. The camera does not even come close to displaying what we are seeing. We are very fortunate to be able to hike into these places that are rarely seen by others.
Hey, believe it or not, a person had signed into this second cache just before we did. I could not believe it. Teri will get online tonight and log these two.
I have had a couple of folks tell me that FMCA has an article on geocaching this month. I have not seen it. We dont read it online and our mags are not forwarded to us. But, I bet it is a great article so you might take a look at it and maybe they explain it better than I have. Some of you might be interested in trying this. You will not regret it. A great way to see places that you will never see otherwise.
Hey, thanks for coming along with us. I bet you are about as tired as I am so lets go rest up a bit. We are doing this again tomorrow, can you believe it?
Dan

Great scenery Dan. I especially like the weather you seem to be having there. Snow still on the ground here in TN.
