For Our Volkswagen Friends

Friday my friend, Bill, helped me measure and cut these three pieces of 1/2 inch plywood. Bill has a complete woodshop and is very helpful to Teri and me. It took us about 3 hours to cut and fit these 3 pieces which make up the inside trunk of the Vdub. This is in place of the rear seat. I will have a place to store things out of the way and it will be a much neater look.

Another shot, with the sun shining through the rear pop out.

The most rear board now covered with carpet. I forgot to mention that earlier this week I ripped the old carpet out and install nice new carpet. It looks great.

Oops. We had our 3 year old grandson stay over night Wednesday. We had a ball. He got to stay up til 11 pm. This shot was just before he fell asleep.

Rylan had to help grandpa fertilize the bushes, after we burned the walnut tree tops. Then we headed to the soda fountain at the local drug store for our reward, hand dipped ice cream cones.

Back to the Vdub. Here is Teri marking and cutting carpet. She is good.

And, the front of the box, all covered with carpet. This is going to look good. I have the brackets, piano hinge, and screws to make everything permanent. It got so hot this afternoon that we stopped after doing the carpet install.
That's it for now. Will post pictures when we install the box and carpet under the rear window and inner fenders. Hoping to get that finished in a day or so.
Thanks for dropping by. We hope you are having a great weekend.
Dan
