This is for all of the 12 grandkids. Want them to see Granna is out here having fun with Grandpa. The trail up to the falls.
Look at these two photos. This fall is way back in the woods. I would guess 3 miles off of hiway 101. We were able to drive within a 1/4th mile and then hiked up a trail to here. Wow. Pictures do not do justice to what we saw today. Don't forget to "click" the photos so you can see them bigger. Especially the last one for today, one of my favorites.
Look at this little stream falling right off of this mountain. Is not that something? As we hiked up here it reminded me of the Ozark mountains, back home. there are lots of simularities. These are just much bigger mountains. We have hills back home. But, the beauty is similar. Can you imagine the folks who came here 200 years ago finding these places? Heaven must be a beautiful place to outdo some of these places that we have right here in our own country.
Hey, the elk are just great. Had to post this one. We got right up on them today. You see those blackberry plants in the foreground? Well, we are parked just on this side. Same herd of about 80-100 elk that we posted a few days back. I just love looking at these things. Teri got this shot. An old, I mean old, bridge takes us over the ditch to the elk. The bridge is overgrown with blackberries and you can only walk across it now, no vehicles. In fact, we would not have known it was there had it not been for friends telling us. I am having such a hard time deciding when to leave here.
The beauty of the northwest is toatally unbelievable. We find places that most do not realize even exist, and only because we visit with local folks or others like us who have been informed. Today we went to the Munson waterfall. There is a little sign posted on the highway but because the traffic is so heavy and in such a hurry on the 2 lane 101, it goes unnoticed by most. We have so many photos. It is very hard for me to pick the few that we post here. I hope that you enjoy the ones that I chose for today. I feel like a kid, "dad, can we stay just one more day"? Thank you so much for stopping. Hope you enjoy the pictures. It is so good to hear from the ones that appreciate our time in trying to share just a little with you. I may have a surprise guest later. So, come back and take a look. Dan

I read through the entire blog in 2 evenings. Didn't realize it was here until we talked last night. I love hearing about your travels and all the people you meet. Makes me want to go traveling, too. Just not with all the children. Don't think they make the motor home big enough for 7.

You are right, beauty that only the eye can behold. We appreciate your posting these pictures and enjoy everyone of them, but I'm sure seeing all this first hand is awesome, how bout that word, "awesome", sounds like one of my grandkids describing something to me. Judy and I have been in some of that area and it is beautiful, but until you go off the beaten roads and search out the sights, as you and Terri have done, can you understand. Thanks again for sharing the sights with us.
