Geocaching Across the Ozarks

We cut a trail about 9 am.  Was a good ride to Doniphan. From there over to Thayer is was crooked and hilly. I had forgotten just how snaky that road is. Back in the 80's that was my county. the lonely parole officer. We finally got to Mammoth Springs, Ar. Time for a rest. 100 miles into a 250 mile trip. Spring River.

Made a stop in Salem. MArci Claire and Teri grabbed a couple of caches here.2 really good looking girls here on the side of the roade. I even stopped and picked them up.

Teri grabbing a cache while Marci Claire took a nap. Believe this or not, we saw a Roadrunner just west of Moutain Home. I could not believe it. He ran slowly across the road in front of us. We see them everywhere in Az. but have never seen one out here before.

Crossing Norfork Lake just out of Mountain Home.
The girls hunting down another treasure.
And, here we are, all tucked in for a few days. We have this place all to ourselves for a couple of days. The other vdubs are not coming til Friday.
The tracker worked when there were reporting stations. They are few and far between in the Ozarks. It show us parked here now. I must say, I was really surprised to find such great roads coming across here. We did climb about 800 feet over 7-8 miles but that was nothing. It did make the temp gauges move up some. Even though our fan clutch does not work, we never heated up. I still need to get my new transmission cooler installed. The cooler in the aluminum radiator is just not enough on a hot Ozark day. Was only 90 at the hottest though.
Hang with us. We are just getting started.
Dan
