Here We Sit

Safe is the word, along with thankful. There is this 10,500 ft. pass just west of Denver. Well, this morning we just barely got over it. A State Trooper blocked traffiic for us to get going after we lost our momentum due to trucks blocking us as they tried to get up. It is just west of the long tunnel for those familiar with the area. Whew. We thought we were stuck and going to be smashed. I was so tired we stopped in Limon, Co. for rest. I slept til 10 pm and now it seems we are in a blizzard here. Not sure if we will get out of here in the morning or not. I wanted to get down off this 5,000 ft. rise but just gave out after 25 hours of driving. At least we got across half Nevada and all of Utah in the dark. Now for Kansas. We got lots of great pictures to share with you but just too pooped out for now. We were in a blizzard in Utah just as we got on I-70 early this morning but drove out of it in 10 or 15 miles.
We got this picture, on hwy 50 in Nevada, of a tree covered with shoes. It was so wierd looking we turned around and went back for pictures. I will get it and more pictures up soon.
Hope all are safe. Looks like windy weather through out the midwest. Maybe things will get better Friday and we can get home. Have about 900 miles to go.
