Instant Hot Water

Here is my helper and best friend. She is testing the shower unit. We wanted to make sure this thing worked before we installed it in our bathroom. I mean it sounds too good to be true, instant hot water shower. It worked on the bbq tank so off we go inside the GMC with it and begin our installation.

Here are pictures of the finished product.

A shot from the mirror.

An up close picture. We were so busy working that we forgot to take pictures of us plumbing the thing in. Teri did have a shot of me mounting the unit but I accidentally deleted it.
Basically it was a simple and straight forward install. We needed water and lp gas to the thing. Both of those are available in the bath under the sink. We spent a couple of hours under there cutting lines and installing new ones to the heater with shut offs on both water and gas. Yesterday I sat down and figured out what we needed to plumb this thing in. We drove over the mountains into town and used the attendant at a local Ace Hardware store for 30 or 40 minutes. Once I got him to understand what we were doing he went to work helping me get all of the fittings that we needed. I could have saved money at Home Depot but I don't mind paying for assistance, which I rarely get at Home Depot. I needed someone that knew about gas and water lines. I knew nothing.
So, we got it in, set the temperature and wow, we had instant hot water. This thing works just as advertized. We have the temperature set just where we want it for our showers. We also have the flow of water set to minimum. Now we get in, turn on the water and it is set, instant warm water for our shower. We will save a lot of water by not having to run water to get it as warm as we want. This thing will burn you too so I think it will be great for instant coffee or what ever we need hot water for. We should not need the water heater much anymore. Maybe when we are plugged into free electricity.
So, I just wanted to share my excitement with you. I think all rvs should come standard with one of these. It is vented out our Fantastic Fan so we smell nothing by just cracking the vent. Actually today I tried it without cracking the vent and I still smelled nothing.
This item was found on ebay, where the guy was selling it for 129.00 with free shipping. I went to his website and found it for 117 shipped after I got a 2% discount for no reason. He has a vented one but it is over 200 bux. This one is perfect for us.
Now we can dry camp and never run the generator again. I love this. We are fully self sufficient now, just like an rv should be. We do not need to depend on any kind of hookups with our solar and instant hotwater unit. This is absolutly great in my way of thinking.
Just wanted to share this with all of my rv friends. Hope everyone had a great new year rollover. We did. I have pictures of our evening and will share them later. I just had to get this up on the blog first. Dan

Endless instant hot water with no generator run time. It looks like it was made to fit where you put it.
