Spending New Year's Day In A GMC Motorhome
And doing in out in the Southwest USA. This is really good. Our 3rd winter in Az. T shirt weather during the sunlight hours. I am hoping for another day like today for Saturday. Our friends will be here to assist me in fixing our brakes on the motorhome.Last night we got out of our car with 99997 miles showing on the odometer. Today I took it for a spin to roll it over. We have only replaced brakes and the belt on this little car. It has been a good one for us. Hope it lasts us another 100000 miles. This does not include the 25,000 that it has followed the GMC. We are on our 3rd set of tires with it.
A friend recently bought an old house that was built in 1906. I was over there today looking at what they have done. they have 2 piles of old car wheels. Many of the wheels are spoked like on the 20 and 30 model cars. They must be worth more to someone out there than just scrapping them. I am going to see if I can help them figure out prices and sell them. Amazing to walk in the old house and think about the years it has been there and the stories that it could tell. My friends are selling it to a house mover as they have a house on the property already.
Well, did everyone have a good New Year Day? I sure hope so. It was a good one here today. Spent some time cleaning road grime off the GMC wheels and then watched the grandchildren target practice with a bb gun and bow. They are good.
It is almost 11 pm. I better get to bed. Must rise early in the morning, at least by 9. That is early for me. Wish me some luck on the brakes. Should really not need luck with the guys I have coming to assess our situation.
We are anxiously awaiting our trip to Quartzsite. Will leave here on the 11th, stop at a friend's for a couple of nights then on over on the 13th. Lots of free fun stuff out there. I need some free stuff. Just figured up our expense getting here, 525.00 in fuel.
See ya Sat with photos,
Dan
