Here we go. Teri and I busted the swamps of Louisiana wide open when we left Patterson. Ran over east just a dab and then north on the sceondary roads. Virtually no one on the roads but us. We were so deep in there that we had no internet. Did not get to do much geocaching but we saw some sights.
Locks and dams on this channel. Lots of home built right on the water. Was a fantastic day for a cruise up to Baton Rouge.
We did not get as many pictures as I had planned. There is just no way to show in a picture what we saw along the way. We were on the back roads. Most were great roads but a couple of them were rough and narrow.
Got the car washed before dark. It was really dusty sitting down in that campground for 10 days. Hated leaving our friends but we need to get on toward Mo. Made the 270 mile trip in about 7 hours. Lots of our driving was at 50 mph. It was a great day for a ride.
Hang with us. Will be heading on up the Ms. River in a few days, heading home.

Cool pictures. That looks like a really beautiful area. Hope to get there someday.
DAN: great pictures
About three years ago we left New Orleans and traveled up the west side of the Mississippi river. Your neighbor to the east, that is the owner of the house, was with us and he used to manage several plantations along that area. All we heard was "it didn't look like this then". Of course that was about 50 years ago.
