Thursday Morning in Quartzsite, 2009, For My Bus Friends

I rolled out early this morning and was in the main flea market area by 1130 am. Pretty good for me. Lots going on here in Quartzsite. Look at this VW. Its for sale too.

Vendors everywhere.

I wondered over to the bus section. Lots of buses. Take a look.

This is a 60 model Fex. It came factory with a Detroit.

This one has a Cat. Was a Buick straight 8 from the factory in 47. This guy is from Oklahoma and owned a GMC until 9 years ago. We had quite a chat and he gave me the inside tour. This is one sweet coach, 32 footer. I did not take any inside shots.

Another sweet Flex. It has been changed to an International power plant.

Of course the club sat these two out front so they would be noticed. The sweetest Flex busses I have ever seen, 47 was the year these two rolled out. The green one is a 33 footer. I did not get inside it, but I will. These folks are eager to show these off. Very friendly. When they found out I was a GMC owner I had their attention. I can also talk a little "bus talk". That allowed me to hang around and ask somewhat intellegent questions. If anyone has questions about these Flex buses just let me know. There are also lots of MCI and GM buses in the group. Must be 40 or 50 of these guys here already. The guy that owns the red one did the interior just like he had his GMC. I even caught one of our club members sneaking in and parking with the bus group. He owned the 35 foot Buffalo that I put on the blog last Spring. He sold it and bought a GMC, so they let him come on into the group since he is a "used to be".
There you have it, buses in Quartzsite. Back out I go for more pictures of interesting things going on here this winter.
