We Have Arrived

Oh yea, we are in the boonies now. Was a 4 hour ride from the Casa Grande area to where we are now, just west of Bouse, Az. This is nice. I will have some pictures Monday. I'd say we are over a mile from any blacktop streets. We will see how the solar setup works in the winter with the sun south of us. Our first time to camp on BLM. Of course we do not "camp". I like living off the grid just like we do when plugged in. We will use our led lights, watch our water consumption, and few other little things, but we will live good. We are watching 60 Minutes now from the satellite dish. The internet is on, although the signal is weak. I will bring out my "big gun" tomorrow and find out which direction the Verizon cell tower is. Will be the first time I have had to use the long directional antenna. With the weak signal the speed is slow but plenty usable. I am guessing there is a mountain blocking our signal.
Thinking Monday afternoon we will run down to look over Quartzsite, maybe Tuesday morning. It is a little over 20 miles to Quartzsite on a good paved road. There is a local gathering here on Mondays at a place in town. They serve breakfast for 4 bux to help raise funds for the community center or something. I will have to get up early, grrr. Teri wants to go. There is no one here during the summer. Teri and I passed through here in September and never even slowed as we passed the little town. During the winter months the population swells with rver's spending the winter in the desert. There are lots of campgrounds around town but it is so much more fun to boondock.
So, thats about it for today. Was an uneventful ride over. That is what we like. The GMC just purred like a kitten the whole trip. Come on back Monday evening and see just what it looks like out here.
