Frank and the Guys

Here is a picture of the scoured cylendar wall. Mondello block off plates.
Spark plug.

More shots of the piston.

The top of the piston is still flat. You can see where something has been beating the top of the piston. Looks like tiny pieces of the ring must have beat this up.

Where the compression ring was.

The aluminum covers are not going back on. Even though I was told by Frank they had sufficient baffling in them, I am still cleaning up these old ones to install.

Frank invited us to the Saturday lunch. Teri fixed some stuff and we had a great lunch. The shop owners do this every Saturday. What a great idea. Most are Mexican Americans so you know they had my favorite fixins.

Our new friend Frank. He cleaned up the oil pan and valve covers before I painted them. One nice guy. I did not take a lot of pictures as a couple of guys looked a little nervous when the camera came out of my pocket.

Frank's place. That is Miguel's car in there. Funny Miguel pays Frank to keep his cars up and running. New timing belt today.

HEre is a shot for Ken Burton. Number two valves. Yes, I reported number one yesterday when I knew it was number 2. Oh well, we all make mistakes.

Am painting the covers and oil pan so we can get going Monday. Miguel came in but had other things to do today besides worry with us. That is fine as we have lots to do and see out here. It never rains in Southern California, I was told. Well guess what, came a gulley washer here last night and it just hailed. I think it will all pass over today.
So, you know what I know about the engine. Thanks very much for all of the comments over on the net. We are glad we chose to come here for work. What a great time we are having. Miguel is a super guy.
