Sunday
Teri and I had a very enjoyable day. After church services we had a potluck lunch. We had evening services at 3 pm. Today was the start of a 4 day meeting at the Chino church of Christ. We certainly enjoyed Vincent Hawkins as the minister today. He and his wife are very nice people and we hope to run into them again. At 430 we headed out to my cousin's house in West Covina. Got home from there about 8 pm. Now to sit and rest up a bit before bedtime. Some folks have commented about our positive attitude. Thank you. We try to take things as they come. There was nothing we could have done about the motorhome breaking down. We have had such a great week here in Southern California. Met some great people and got to visit with my cousin and her husband.
One comment asks about the other 7 pistons, how did they look on top. They all looked great. No evidence of any "pecking" on them like number 2 has. So, just one of those things. Many feel that this ring may have been broken since it was installed by the builder back in 01 down in Dallas. Could very well have been. Engine always ran good but as long as that compression ring rode where it was supposed to I guess the engine would have no symptoms.
Just wanted to let yall know what we did today and how things are going. I think we will get the new engine buttoned up tomorrow and ready for install. Need to service the transmission and replace the rear pan gasket that covers the chain. It has been leaking for over a year now. I do not like any fluids leaking from my vehicles. We can stop that as the transmission and final drive came out with the engine, front wheel drive. We could have snatched the engine through the inside of the coach but I wanted that leak stopped on the tranny.
Life is good here. Thanks for stopping by. I will have pictures tomorrow.
Dan
