Geocaching Az. Highway 95

Hey,  I am slow but no dummy. We had a great meal here yesterday and it was free. teri and I have somewhere to be every night this week. I will say the desert has started to come alive today. Folks are coming in by the dozens.

Saturday we geocached our way home from Lake Havasu City.

Check this one out, a golf ball.

Out in the desert just south of the city.

Here we are near Parker Dam on the Colorado. We did cross over into California, set our watches back an hour. Turned around and came back across. Had to reset the clocks, ha.

A picture of the old dam. They have this place really nice. I suppose the dam is why there is now a Lake Havasu City. It was incorporated 1964. The place continues to grow around the water. Phoenix and Los Angeles get most of their water from this river. Pretty neat.

Yea, that is Teri opening a geocache.

Both sides of the river are developed. Lots of rv parks and trailers along here.

Parker, Az.

I found this one. Teri got most of them. We are at 600 finds now. Not bad for 2 years.

We have GMC folks pulling in. Last night Teri and I visited them around the fire. We are 5 miles south of the group here.
Thanks for checking on us. We hit some more of the street vendors this morning. We stayed up late last night so slept in today. Its a holiday so we can sleep in if we want.
Have a good week. Will catch back up with you in a day or two.
Dan

When we were there a few years ago, I thought I read that that is one of the tallest dams in the US. It doesn't look that way, but apparently the dam extends way down below the river bed to bedrock.
